New York engagement photos

Here we found each other; above the crowds on Twenty-third Street And like two wandering souls we wandered into each other again, but for three hundred twenty-two days the ocean separated us the rain rained down on us and the darkness – it engulfed us… But love knows not oceans. And on the three hundred twenty third we found each other again… here, again, here. Here and anywhere on Earth.      Met in Austria, Engaged on the Cook Islands and Got Married in Croatia   I know it may sound weird that two soulmates can meet in a night club at a trance party, where usually no one talks to each other, but it really is possible. Exactly these two weird soulmates are now the happiest Mr and Mrs on the whole planet…or, we love to believe we are. Back in 2010, even 6 months after I (Fatime) had moved from Bosnia to an Austrian village as au pair, my host family was still trying to motivate me to go out on my own. After so many failed tries, on the 14.8.2010, I finally decided to take the last train from the country side to Vienna and to return back with the first one in the morning. I went to my favorite club which I loved so much, because it was a club with a planetarium where you could sit and enjoy watching the stars when you got tired from dancing. I came to the club with a great wish to dance all night long. Even though a few people tried to talk to me, my answer was always the same “I´m here to dance”. But then, at some point, this cute guy I had noticed in the que in front of the club, he came to me and we simply started dancing. It felt so normal that one would think we had known each other forever. And I do like to think our souls had been together for much longer before we even met each other. It was such a memorable night I can still remember almost every single detail about it. At some point both of us got tired from dancing and went to find a nice place to sit in the planetarium to watch the stars. We stayed there for hours without really talking to each other, but it simply felt like the right thing to do. Unfortunately, we were “kicked out” from the planetarium around 5am and we had another hour to spend together before my train left Vienna. Somehow I managed to give him a wrong phone number and a day after that was the first time I was incredibly thankful for having such a rare name, which made it easy for him to find me on Facebook J. From then on, it all went just perfect. We started dating on the 28.8.2010, which is still our anniversary day, because we got married on the same date this year. We never really used to talk about getting married, probably because we started living together in the fourth month of our relationship and it somehow felt like being married. If I was to say one thing I always loved and still adore about him…it would be him, being such a great dreamer. He always loved to talk about his great wish for traveling around the world once he finishes his master studies and somehow…that moment came so quickly and, suddenly, we were both packing our backpacks and getting ready for our big adventure. I couldn’t believe we were really going to be gone for about three months, on our own. And, even if it may sound like a big lie, I never, really never even thought he could be intending to propose on me on our trip. But, he was…and that was without any doubt, the most beautiful day in my life, until our wedding day. There are no words in any language I speak, which could explain my enthusiasm and happiness about getting married to a men a woman can only dream about. I enjoyed every single second of getting all done for our big day. We decided to exchange our wedding vows on the beautiful Croatian Island Vis which we loved it so much, because we had our most beautiful and memorable vacation there back in 2011. I was so happy for having the whole freedom of planning the wedding exactly the way I wanted it and that’s the way the wedding was in the end. My perfect bohemian wedding with our closest family and friends. But, let the most beautiful pics made by Danijela from One Day Studio tell you more about this special day.   Thank you Danijela for capturing our most beautiful moments <3 With love, Fatime Photographer: Danijela Location: Island of Vis, Croatia     Vis Wedding Photographer | Destination Weddings | Croatia Wedding Photography | Destination Croatia | Wedding Cinematography | Island Vis Croatia | Bohemian Weddings | Venues Croatia | Engagement photography | Garden Wedding

Engagement shooting on Vis Island

For many people engagement is one of the most important events in their lives. It is as important as the wedding itself so having any kind of memory of it is very heart warming and important. We would be delighted to make as many memories of your engagement as possible. The memories we can create for you are photographs and videos. There are thousands of great places to celebrate your engagement in, but today we would like to tell you a great story about Vis. It is the farthest inhabited island in Croatia, settled in the large Bay of Saint George and it has a very long history. It was established in the 4th century and for a long time has been the economic center of the area, as well as the military base. Island was long ruled by Old Greeks and also Republic of Venice. All rulers have left a great mark on the island which can be seen even today and it’s a great scenery for the engagement shooting. The last but not least important fact is that Vis island was once also the most important headquarter of Marshal Josip Broz Tito. Let’s also say that the Fort George is one of the most recognizable heritages of Vis island. It is settled at the hill close to the town Vis and it was built in 1813 by English army who saw this place as the great strategic spot. Today, this is the place where you can make all kinds of parties; engagement and wedding parties, all kinds of music and art events and even festivals. This is the place where you can enjoy domestic food and drinks, but also the atmosphere which is one of the kind. So, if you are seriously thinking about the place for your engagement party, why not think of Fort George? We must not forget the Blue Grotto as well. This is the cave located on the small island Biševo, very close to the town Komiža on Vis island. It is one of the most beautiful and recognizable natural spots in Croatia due to glowing blue light which appears at a certain time of the day, usually between 11am and noon. The cave offers great scenery for unforgettable photographs. Vis island is often described as a small part of heaven. It’s the place you simply must see when you visit Croatia and when you come once it is certain you will wish to come again. HERE you can see beautiful wedding on Island Vis

Short history of the wedding photography

The newlyweds are shooting a video in a tangerine field

Wedding photography is the form of photography related to weddings. It usually covers events a few hours (sometimes even few days) before the couple gets married and the ceremony itself, from the beginning until the very end. The art of the wedding photography evolved since the invention of the first permanent photograph in 1826 by Joseph Nicephore Niepce. Actually, the first official wedding photograph in the world might be from the wedding of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria in 1840. It is interesting to know that at first people didn’t pose for their weddings. On the contrary, they would rather pose in some nice clothes before and after the wedding and it was usual in the first part of the 19th century. In that old times it also wasn’t common to hire a photographer for the wedding. This tradition ended around 1860s, when more and more couples in love wanted a great memory of their big day and they started to hire professional wedding photographers. They would pose in the wedding clothes and photographers would also follow the whole ceremony. But it was a hard work since the photography equipment was very heavy and had so many parts at first. That’s why the first wedding photographs were mainly studio made. In the 1880s the technology became lighter and wedding photographers would follow the couple, their guests and even take photographs of the wedding gifts. And here we are at the beginning of the 20th century. This is the time when the color photography became available. But not to easy! The color photography was far too expensive and also very unreliable so the most wedding photographs were still made in black and white technique. After the Second World War the lightning and roll techniques became available and it was very common for photographers to come to the wedding, make photograph and sell them later, both to the married couple and the guests. It was still the time of the lowquality photographs, but the technology was growing really fast. We can say that the real modern wedding photography as we know it today, started in the 1970s when the wedding photography developed intodocumentary style, meaningdocumenting everything before, during and after the wedding, making memorable albums that will bea great reminder of the wedding for the rest of our lives.

Weather forecast was tricky those days… During the morning, we arrived to sunny Dubrovnik. It hasn’t been long when suddenly it became like someone just turned off the light. The sky was overclouded and it was raining, even hail was falling. If you ask me, it’s not a problem at all…each wedding is special because of something so why this wedding shouldn’t be special because of a summer storm? I think the bride wouldn’t agree on this. Luckily for her, everything calmed down very soon and the weather became ideal for enjoying with friends and for taking photos.
