Dubrovnik Wedding Planner – Yes I Du

FIRST THINGS FIRST Couples often do not know where to start. Due to the excitement, bride and groom usually focus on all those sweet details which require attention only after solving the key elements that form the basis of any wedding. ADVICE: The first step is to choose your ideal location, set a date and set the limits of your budget, as well as to decide the type of the ceremony (civil, church or symbolic) you would like to have.   COMPROMISE It is very important that both, bride and groom participate in the creation of the concept of the ideal wedding.  You can write down all your wishes and ideas on a piece of paper, and afterwards you should select those which are most important for both of you. It is important to leave some space for the wishes your parents, especially if they are financially participating in your wedding. ADVICE: Compromise is a key component in balancing the expectations, desires and possibilities.   FIND A LOCAL WEDDING PLANNER Be sure you know who is who in the process of planning, organization and coordination of the wedding day. If you have chosen the wedding planner to help you with the wedding, professionals will take care of all the details, you will have time to relax and spend quality time with your guests. ADVICE: It is hard to organize a destination wedding from abroad. Local wedding planners can save you both time and money especially when it comes to choosing vendors.   ROLES Your guests are guests, and we highly advise to engage business professionals for all the services. ADVICE: Many couples engage friends for certain roles on their wedding day (you have a friend who is a DJ or a friend who can take photos, etc.) and it usually results with disappointment because the guest will not feel as a guest on your wedding and you, on the other hand, will not have a professional person who can fullfil everything what is expected from him/her.   BACK-UP OPTION You have chosen a beach for your dream day. Everything is perfect, the sun is shining, palm trees look just perfect – and all of the sudden, it starts raining! And you? Do you have everything ready for the bad weather and unpredictable situations? ADVICE: Always be sure to have a ready back-up option in case of a bad weather.   MUSIC It is important to pay attention to the dynamics of the entire event. Music as the basis of each party must be diverse, adapted to the space and to the guests you have invited. ADVICE:  Make sure to choose a different type of music for the ceremony, cocktail reception and dinner.   PROGRAM Too long program and too many speeches within the formal dinners can have the opposite effect and ‘shut down’ entertainment. Each speech should not be more than 3 minutes long. ADVICE: Sitting down for too long and having many speeches which last for too long can ‘’kill’’ the party.   CONCEPT, DESIGN AND DECORATION You have lots of ideas and inspirations, but do not know how to tie everything together into a unified whole? Create a ‘mood board’ – all the details and ideas put into one place and pay attention that they are compatible. ADVICE: Design and decoration must be unified with the space where the wedding takes place and your wedding dress, hairstyle, make-up, flowers, cake and all details should be a part of this unified concept.   PRIORITIES Be sure to think carefully and define priorities – make sure that your budget is well distributed and that you have enough resources for those elements which are really important to you. Someone’s priority is good photographer, somebody else wants good music, and someone will ignore both of these elements and choose the best food and drinks. ADVICE: Choose your priorities and stick to them! Do not forget about each other during the whole process and do not neglect your relationship. Have time to enjoy a romantic dinner, or have fun with your friends … without mentioning the Wedding You are getting married because you want to celebrate the love you feel for each other. Let this always be your guiding principle. With this in mind, planning your wedding will be a real pleasure! Dubrovnik Wedding Planner – Yes I Du Your Dubrovnik Wedding Photographer

Short history of the wedding photography

The newlyweds are shooting a video in a tangerine field

Wedding photography is the form of photography related to weddings. It usually covers events a few hours (sometimes even few days) before the couple gets married and the ceremony itself, from the beginning until the very end. The art of the wedding photography evolved since the invention of the first permanent photograph in 1826 by Joseph Nicephore Niepce. Actually, the first official wedding photograph in the world might be from the wedding of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria in 1840. It is interesting to know that at first people didn’t pose for their weddings. On the contrary, they would rather pose in some nice clothes before and after the wedding and it was usual in the first part of the 19th century. In that old times it also wasn’t common to hire a photographer for the wedding. This tradition ended around 1860s, when more and more couples in love wanted a great memory of their big day and they started to hire professional wedding photographers. They would pose in the wedding clothes and photographers would also follow the whole ceremony. But it was a hard work since the photography equipment was very heavy and had so many parts at first. That’s why the first wedding photographs were mainly studio made. In the 1880s the technology became lighter and wedding photographers would follow the couple, their guests and even take photographs of the wedding gifts. And here we are at the beginning of the 20th century. This is the time when the color photography became available. But not to easy! The color photography was far too expensive and also very unreliable so the most wedding photographs were still made in black and white technique. After the Second World War the lightning and roll techniques became available and it was very common for photographers to come to the wedding, make photograph and sell them later, both to the married couple and the guests. It was still the time of the lowquality photographs, but the technology was growing really fast. We can say that the real modern wedding photography as we know it today, started in the 1970s when the wedding photography developed intodocumentary style, meaningdocumenting everything before, during and after the wedding, making memorable albums that will bea great reminder of the wedding for the rest of our lives.

So, maybe the love story from the past times could be a good starting point of the great ideas for your wedding! The region of Slavonia in Croatia is often recognized as a region with rich castles and interesting stories.    Just to give you an example, the castle Pejačević in Virovitica is the baroque castle settled in the centre of the town and it is very important historical monument, still in excellent condition.  If you just take a quick look of this castle, it will thrill you and captivate your heart. Croatian part of Adriatic Sea and coast has hundreds of islands and peninsulas (yes, you have just read well – hundreds of them!) so finding the right place for the wedding in Croatia is not a difficult mission. Most places at Croatian part of the Adriatic Coast and on islands are very romantic. Their characteristics are narrow streets, small houses, very close to each other, churches that, like an officer, watch over the whole region, and the great view of the sea. These places also offer the peace that you can not experience anywhere else. Most of seaside places are just perfect scenery for photos and no wonder the best Croatian wedding photographers will choose exactly the place by the sea to take the best photos in their careers.   By the sea there are also cities which can offer you the beauties of nature and also facilities of civilization at the same time. For example, some of the cities on the Croatian coastline are Dubrovnik, Rovinj, Rijeka, Split, Šibenik, Zadar and many others. All these cities have monumental churches which date back in the history and that can become the right place for the romantic wedding in Croatia.   Dubrovnik is worldwide known as the best touristic place in the whole Croatia. It is famous for the Old City walls and the view from walls is something that people remember for the whole life.   Rovinj is famous for the old church with the very high tower.
